The Broadchurch Effect...
Now into its second series, Bafta Award-winning Broadchurch is once again causing quite a stir in our neighbourhood. The ITV drama is primarily filmed in neighbouring West Bay and the Burton Bradstock cliffs, a stone’s throw from Volt HQ, provide a suitably dramatic setting.
Droves of Broadchurch Fans have flocked to this part of the Jurassic Coast to experience ‘the real Broadchurch.’ Local businesses have been quick to cash in on this phenomenon. The Bull Hotel has offered a chance to win a night’s stay in the room where the cast and crew stayed, a walking tour of Broadchurch hotspots is also available for just £8. Our favourite though is the Broadchurch burger: claiming to contain a quarter pound of David Tennant and grated Pauline Quirke. It did in fact taste like a cheese burger which is quite amazing!
Tucked away on the other side of the cliff, Volt Loudspeakers have even been asked if the ‘B’ in their Loudspeaker series had anything to do with Broadchurch. ‘No,’ replied David, Volt’s Technical Director, ‘it’s always stood for bass!’
