Last Month our Chinese Distributor Image Audio displayed a selection of Volt drive units in one their three rooms at the Guangzhou AV Fair. The show is in it’s 24th year is billed as ‘China’s largest civilian use audio and video expo’.
It is as gigantic as it sounds, however we’re please to say that we were well represented – not only by the fantastic job that Image Audio did but also from the presence that some of our customers had: Quested, Graham Audio and MJ Acoustics.
Both midrange domes on display along with our 6.5″ transducer and 15 & 12″ Radial units.
MJ Acoustics launched a stunning new Radial Reference Range.
Preceded by their reputation, here’s Quested‘s impressive stand
Graham Audio‘s LS5/8 in the forefront of this picture.
If you’re in the Guangzhou this weekend and visiting the China’s largest audio and video expo, then please hunt down our studio speakers that are being shown on Image Audio’s stands.
Furthermore, look out for Graham Audio and MJ Acoustics systems who also use Volt drivers and have a listen if you can.
Earlier this month Volt’s Steve and Nick went to Munich for a trip to the High End Hifi Show where, like many other hifi enthusiasts, they immersed themselves in a world of high end audio.
The vast show encompasses mainly loudspeakers, turntables, amplifiers and cables spanning the luxurious to the exotic to the the seemingly quite insane but most importantly provides an opportunity for actually listening to many new products which was a real treat.
Some of our British customers were unveiling some beautiful and impressive new designs at the show, a true testimony to the British Audio Industry and something we feel proud to be a part of.

A humble loudspeaker we spotted!
It’s been many years since our Radials have been reviewed by an industry expert so we were thrilled when Voice Coil’s editor Vance Dickason ask to review one of our flagship products the 12″ RV3143.
After carrying out extensive tests Vance concluded that,
“I am certainly impressed with Volt’s Radial Technology, as it solves the problem of power compression that is exacerbated by the build up of heat in an enclosure, especially in pro sound PA and studio monitor applications. Regardless, the Volt RV3143 is a well-engineered woofer with some really unique features.”

Hot on heels of Augusts review of its 2″ counterpart, the VM753 (3″ midrange dome) found itself on Vance Dickason’s test bench. The Editor of Voice Coil Magazine has been been a professional in the loudspeaker industry since 1974 and his reputation precedes him. We were excited to see what tests he would carry out, the subsequent results and of course – the overall verdict.
He concluded, ‘Like the 2″ VM527, the VM752 is an impressive device with good performance and excellent build quality.’

Voice Coil September 2017_VM752 Review
The Voltaire range of precision loudspeakers has been growing and recently Robson Acoustics launched their flagship model; The Voltaire IV. As with any flagship model the team at Robson Acoustics have pushed to develop one of the best loudspeakers in the world and say, ‘We believe we have achieved this with a system that can conjure up a holographic soundstage, imagining to die for, incredible bass precision and dynamics, the purest vocal clarity and huge scale to completely immerse you in the magic of the original recording.’
The Voltaire IV use a pair of Volt BM2500.4s that feature a massive magnet with a symmetrical field, extended pole and exceptionally long voice coil for maximum linearity. The cone, linen surround and dome are critically matched and doped to ensure very low midband colouration. The result is analytical sound quality with a stunning dynamic range.
Combined with a ribbon tweeter capable of a very low crossover point and high power handling giving a system of high spl’s and sensitivity to provide an extremely analytical sound across the entire audible frequency spectrum.
No corners have been cut in the quality of any of the other components and, as with the rest of the Voltaire range, Track Audio Isolation feet ensure that the final nuances of musical textures are maintained.
